Frequently Asked Questions

Velvet Wells built the All Request Radio Live on Location format (ARRLOL) for any combination of musical improvisers (one to many, of any experience level) to come together and enjoy performing musically. If you’ve sung in the shower, you’re ready to try this format!

Is the show truly improvised?

Short answer: Yes! Three proofs for the non-believers:

  1. The audience makes up the song titles at the beginning of each show. Programming randomly selects the suggestions
  2. Song titles are revealed one at a time. Song lyrics are freestyle sung off the top of the performers head
  3. The musicians are randomly creating music from across dozens of different genres without sharing information with the singers ahead of time

Is this family-friendly?

Families have come together to be entertained and this show has performed in public schools. At evening performances, content is kept PG-13 even with the unplannable and unknowable nature of adult audience suggestions
